The Talent Program

The Baltic Ventures Talent Program connects Accelerator founders with leading talent throughout the Liverpool City Region, supporting companies from day one to grow and scale their teams.

Through paid placements and roles, individuals will gain hands-on experience within some of the UK’s top early-stage tech companies, supporting founders where they need it the most to unleash potential and accelerate change.

Are you based in the Liverpool City Region and looking for an opportunity to break into tech? The Talent Program connects you with some of the UK’s top early-stage tech companies through paid roles and placements across a variety of areas.

Whether you are a career switcher, a return to worker or a graduate, we understand that talent has no boundaries and comes in all forms. Through The Talent Program you will be working on groundbreaking technologies, in close knit founding teams, with real responsibility and the chance to make an impact from day one.

Positions available are entirely dependent on the needs of the Accelerator cohort companies. Please see individual job listings for further information. 

The Talent Program is solely open to Liverpool City Region residents.

The Recruitment Process

Application

Complete initial application form and submit a short 2 minute video.

Interview

If successful you will be invited to complete a 45 minute interview with the founding team.

Technical Stage (if applicable)

Depending on the role an additional technical recruitment stage may be required to ensure your skills and experience match the role requirements.

Offer

Offers of employment will be made through the hiring company.

The Talent Program is open to all Baltic Ventures Accelerator participants. We understand that people are a part of your business journey.

FAQs

Is The Talent Program only open to Liverpool City Region Residents?

Our Accelerator program takes place in the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool. In alignment with this the Talent Program is currently only open to Liverpool City Region residents.

Can any company apply for a Talent Program Hire?

Currently The Talent Program is only open to companies participating on our accelerator program. Our program has selected some of the UK’s leading early stage companies to accelerate their growth and we want to find a perfect match to join them on their  journey. 

Is The Talent Program only open to university degree graduates?

No, we urge people from all backgrounds to apply as exceptional talent comes in all forms. Each company will have bespoke requirements which may require certain prerequisites e.g. a software engineering degree. We understand university is not a feasible route for everyone and experience can be gained through different routes such as a bootcamps or an apprenticeships. If all listed requirements are not met we urge you to apply anyway if you think you would be a good fit.

Are part-time roles available?

This is dependent on the need of the Accelerator companies. Please check individual job descriptions for further information.

Can individuals still in high school / college apply?

The Talent Program is open to individuals from all backgrounds and experience levels,  we do however ask that applicants are 18+, have finished school and have undertaken some level of work experience or further education.

Where are the roles based?

Roles will be based in the Liverpool City Region or will be remote/hybrid. Please check individual job descriptions for exact working locations.

Who will I be working for?

Individuals will be employed directly by the company taking part in the Baltic Ventures Accelerator Program. Selected as they are creating the next generation of tech products/services you will be working at the forefront of innovation in a small team with the opportunity to make an impact.

What are the terms of employment?

Individuals will be employed directly by accelerator cohort companies. The contract offered depends on the individual job listing i.e if the position is a temporary placement or a permanent role.

I don’t have any work experience, can I still apply?

If you can demonstrate that you meet the listed requirements and think you align with the company’s mission, vision and values we urge you to apply.

What happens at the end of the 6 months?

You will have been on a professional development fast-track and will have gained the skills and connections to succeed in any work environment. We want cohort companies to be in a place to permanently expand their teams, however this may not be feasible for all, in this case you will be added to our alumni pool or referred to ecosystem partners to find your next opportunity!
