Liverpool Games Tech Startup Programme

In partnership with Baltic Ventures and Growth Platform

Are you curious about starting something in or around the games industry – but not sure where to begin?

Join our free two-day in-person programme designed for people across the Liverpool City Region who want to explore how to turn their skills, ideas or interests into a startup.

This isn’t about making games. It’s about using games technologies to build something new – or creating tools, platforms, or services that support the games industry itself.

Whether you’ve got an early-stage idea or are just exploring what’s possible, this is a space to get inspired and make a start.

Meet the Coaches

The programme is hosted in partnership between Baltic Ventures and Growth Platform, and will be led by two experienced coaches: Rebecca Robinson and Clemens Wangerin.

Rebecca Robinson:

Rebecca, through her work in the creative sector, experience scaling games companies, and time building tech businesses in incubators and accelerators, understands how to spot and shape opportunities. With years spent as a coach and business growth expert for organisations including Baltic Ventures, Creative UK, GM Business Growth Hub, DCMS (Create Growth programme), and as an investment expert for the UK Space Agency’s Fusion programme, she helps founders see how they can build sustainable businesses by combining creative ideas with clear commercial strategies, giving them the skills and confidence to grow.

Clemens Wangerin:

Clemens Wangerin has worked in the games industry continuously for the last 30 years, most of it in Liverpool. In that time, he has worked in AAA game studios, start-ups and VC-funded innovation companies. He’s helped raise several million in equity investment, delivered more than £250 million in product revenue for Publishers, and led the development of acclaimed IPs across console, mobile and virtual reality (VR) platforms.
